This picture was on my first blog...from 2007 when we went to Antarctica. The same ship at "home" in Norway. During the winter she gets a vacation in the summer Antarctic.
There are patches of snow and not a lot of greenery. This is the arctic after all.
Along the way we see tiny windswept islands, lots of birds and the narrow inlets known to the world as the fjords.
Our ship is a working ship therefore do not think Princess or Crystal. There are no luxuries on her other than cleanliness and order. We will visit a port several times a day receiving and shipping supplies and cargo to various tiny towns. People will come and go as needed. Some locals stay on for 2 stops some stay for the 10 day round trip. The food is interesting not necessarily good...as our guide puts it, we have "northern treats" like salmon roe and salted ox. Travel is always an adventure.
