Just A Few More...

It looks like a normal round treasure box...but take off the lid
...and inside is a rectangular treasure box.
This bright red elephant, named Fancy, is getting packed to go to her forever home in Costa Rica. AND lastly,
2 little matching cars. You can surmise the size of these cars by looking at my hand. I'm having too much fun making toys.

The tiniest of the 2 police cars was sent to a suburb of Chicago yesterday.
BTW, the green/white teddy bear from my last post, has been named Lily and she goes to her forever home today.

I'm Still Crocheting

A couple of new "critters" have appeared in our home. The other night I finished a little green teddy bear

I've not named her yet, but she will tell me her name soon.
Last night a tiny police car showed up.
This happy little vehicle is destined for a friend near Chicago.
I need to thank my friend Karen for the star buttons as they are particularly hard to find.
One day I'll talk about the news, but the news has to get better.

A Green Box for St. Patrick's Day

It's an ordinary green box...maybe a little lumpy...but just a box.
 Do you see a cover?
Take the cover off...and there''s a little surprise
A pretty striped piggy you can play with.
Happy St. Patrick's Day

The News is Still Bad So...

There are banks failing, winter storms are raging on the east and west coasts, there's talk of banning all gas stoves...so I'm crocheting away.
Something has to bring joy to the world and why not little critters and other things. To that end...my collection now includes

A small SUV with matching trailer
A Red Pickup truck, several piggies and treasure boxes.
I gave a piggie to my chiropractor and she thought it was the cutest thing she's ever seen.
That's much better news than what's in the paper or online.

Treasure Boxes

I''ve branched out from toys to boxes (which I guess are toys too). I started with some big baskets
The largest basket is 12 inches in diameter

Using thick wool yarn. They were fun, but I wondered if I could make them smaller...
So I made some smaller ones, including square-ish boxes as well as round boxes.
Today I tried something new...nesting boxes. These boxes are all less than 3 inches in diameter.
This is the 3 inch "big"  box and it has a secret...
Take off the cover, and another box is inside...
Just one box nestled in a bigger box. The smallest box has stuffing inside, so it will retain it's shape.
Needless to say, I've given a few of these boxes away and everyone loves them. They fit in the palm
of your hand and they will hide your tiny treasures like rings, earrings and bracelets.
