One of the docks had a "Black Forest" theme with wood carvings decorating it. It was really cute.

The two corbels under the eaves were "green men"...one happy

while the other was grumpy. The roof was decorated with shiny brass finials and a one had a fancy weather vane. 

All the other docks were "normal" little white buildings.  

Lake Lucerne has been a holiday spot for a very long time, so there are many hotels and shops around the lake. Unlike some resorts, the whole lake is not ringed with houses and that's a plus!

Every so often there's a single home on a tiny man-made peninsula ... What a perfect location.
